Black Opal 2016-Midnight at the Museum: Exhibiting Excellence (YPN's Annual Fundraising Gala)

The Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals
Network (YPN) cordially invites you to the 7th Annual Black Opal Awards Gala on Saturday April 9, 2016 at the Torpedo Factory Art Center located at 105 North Union Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.       

YPN is an auxiliary organization of the Northern Virginia Urban League created for civic-minded professionals between the ages of 21-40, and our mission is to engage young professionals in the Urban League movement toward social and economic empowerment. Join us as we celebrate 16 years of service to the Northern Virginia community! 

This year, Black Opal is honoring young leaders and organizations that are making a significant difference in S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) fields in and around the Northern Virginia area. Black Opal is one of the most anticipated charity events in this region; you don't want to miss it!

Funds raised from the gala will be used to provide scholarships to area high school students and to directly support YPN’s annual programs, such as College Survival, the Political Forum, and Opportunity to Thrive.

Transportation

Parking and Metro: There is limited free parking in nearby residential areas, but it is restricted to two hours. Parking regulations are strictly enforced by the City of Alexandria. Parking is free after 9 pm. Colonial Parking Garage is located at 102 North Union Street, Alexandria, VA
