The 6th Annual NVULYPN Backpack Drive donates backpacks to underprivileged children in the Northern Virginia area. These backpacks are filled with the necessary school supplies for students to successfully navigate the school year.
The Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals Network (YPN) is seeking the support of you/your organization for our 6th annual Back-To-School backpack Drive scheduled for Saturday August 29th, 2015 Last year, we serviced more than 178 children from low-income households with school supplies that helped make the difference in academic achievement. This year we are seeking to expand our reach and your contribution will make the difference.
The National Retail Federation found that families spent an average of $101 on school supplies in 2014. A modest donation of $10-$30 or a commitment to donate school supplies in-kind can help achieve the goal of providing school supplies to a minimum of 100 children across the Northern Virginia Community as they prepare for another year of academic achievement.

Your partnership and support for this effort will contribute to reinforcing the importance of having the tools necessary to obtain a high quality education.
Admission to this event is FREE. Monetary, and/or in-kind donations are encouraged.

A $10 Donation will provide 1 student with: 3 - 1 subject notebooks, 1 glue stick, 1 ruler, 1 - 3-pack of erasers, 1 - 10-pack of pens, 1 scissor, 2 composition notebooks, 5 pocket folders, 1 - 24-pack of colored pencils

A $20 Donation will provide 1 student with 1 backpack or all the above + 1 - 10-pack of markers, 1 calculator, and 1 pack of construction paper

A $30 Donation will provide 1 student with all the above + 1 binder and 3 -120pg packs of loose leaf paper
